How to make different margaritas frozen

There is no cocktail to quench your summer thirst as a margarita frozen and served in a chilled glass. Today there are many variations of the margarita but it is essential a Mexican cocktail. This drink has such a wide spread and far reaching appeal that it has become one of the most common tequila based drink in the United States and the rest of the world as well.

Traditionally a margarita is made with tequila which is mixed with lime juice and triple sec. It is served in a glass with salt on the rim. It is normally shaken with ice and served either straight up, which means that it is poured into the glass sans the ice or is sometimes blended with the ice to give the exciting frozen margarita.

The margarita cocktail is made with one ounce of tequila, a dash of triple sec and the juice of half a lemon or a lime. This mix is then poured over crushed ice and stirred. The rim of the margarita glass is then rubbed with a little bit of lime and then spun in a little bit of salt. The salt on the rim of the glass gives the margarita its classic look and a little bit of a bite as well.

When you want to make a classic frozen margarita, you will need one cup of ice, one and a half ounces of tequila, half an ounce of Triple sec, half an ounce of lime juice, three ounces of sour mix, a lime wedge for garnishing and some salt for rimming your margarita glass. Take the tequila, lime juice, triple sec, sour mix and pour it all in a blender, Blend all these ingredients until they are a smooth mix. Chill a margarita glass and then salt its rim. Pour the drink into this ready glass and serve garnished with a lime wedge.

Apart from the traditional margarita frozen you can make a number of variations of this drink. One very popular frozen margarita is the apple margarita. You can make an apple margarita the traditional way and serve it straight up or you can blend all the ingredients together to get a yummy frozen margarita.

For making an apple margarita frozen you will need the standard one cup of ice, one ounce of tequila, one ounce of Apple Pucker, one ounce of apple juice, half an ounce of sour mix and a nice green apple wedge for garnishing. Go ahead and blend all the ingredients together in a blender. Wet the rim of your margarita glass with some Apple Pucker and rim the glass with some salt. Pour the drink mix in and garnish with the green apple wedge and your apple margarita frozen is ready to be served.

Watermelon margaritas frozen are a great summer cooler. Take a watermelon, deseed and blend it in a processor till smooth. Strain and freeze this watermelon juice in a freezer in ice cube trays. Take two cups of these frozen watermelon ice cubes, half cup of simple sugar syrup, half a cup of fresh lime juice, two cups of tequila and two ounces of melon liqueur. Blend all these ingredients until smooth and pour into frozen and rimmed margarita glasses.
