Bottle Drinks

Bottle drinks are commonly and widely used in all countries all over the world. Even villages in developing countries deal in and sell different types and kinds of Bottle Drinks. These could be fruit juices, syrups, liquors and liqueurs or just plain water or even soda.

Bottle drinks is now a flourishing industry by itself. Many small stores, business owners who are good in making food snacks and also beverages would also like to use and sell bottle drinks and expand their sales. Some of these vendors are also encouraged by their regular customers, who enjoy their home made drinks and snacks, to bottle their beverages and sell them online.

Being encouraged to expand his bottle drinks sales the vendor ponders over the following doubts and points:

Where would be buy his bottles from?
How would he manage the bottles and their labels?
Even though his bottle drink is non-alcoholic, would he have any legal restrictions?
Mostly such drinks would need preservatives which would give it a suitably long shelf life. Should he sell it with an instruction saying “best before” date? Or should he consider adding preservatives?

We have managed a few answers for you, though not from a food scientist but definitely from a degree holder in food industry who also knows effective retailing.

To be an effective business man in food industry, he should use preservatives; for mail orders or even retailing or it has to be highly refrigerated. These preservatives are also good for flavors which are natural and artificial. These are basically the essences of good flavors more than the ingredients used to give the flavor. It is the chemical ingredient in the maple syrup that adds more flavor than the actual maple itself. The maple syrup can turn bad very fast.

When companies want to expand the sales of their produce they come into agreement with a company who is an expert in food science. This company can then help them make a version for the shelf. If the product does not have a shelf stable version, retailers will not even give it a second glance and sending it through the mail would be very risky. Its best not tried.

In case of bottled drinks one should be very cautious of the bottle or container in which it is bottled. Plastic bottles have their own advantages and disadvantages. Every person has the right to take care of his or her own physical well-being.

Sweet beverages which are bottled or canned contain a high content of calorie, corn syrup, high fructose etc. These are responsible for obesity problem in people; which is getting worse by the day. If one just feels like having bottled drinks, then one has to choose a drink which has good nutritional contents and less calorie content.

These days we have a variety of bottles which are reusable and are made from stainless steel, BPA free plastic, or even from glass. Irrespective of the choice of beverage i.e. coffee, water, juice, soda or tea – it’s a good habit to carry a reusable bottle to reduce the plastic waste.

Enjoy bottle drinks but take care not to overdo on them – as they do carry some health hazards. Insulated stainless steel for hot drinks and others for cold beverages to tag along is also a cleaver idea.
